Multiplying by 5

Divide by 2 and multiply by 10.
Example:

38×5=(38÷2)×10=19×10=19038×5=(38÷2)×10=19×10=190

Note: Always works.

n×5=(n÷2)×10n×5=(n÷2)×10

If nn is odd, dividing by 2 gives a decimal — but the method still holds.
