$n=50\pm d:$ Description: If $n=50+d$ then

$n^2=2500+100d+d^2$

Example:

$482=2500-200+4=2304$

Note: Works best for numbers close to 50.

If n=50±d:

$n^2=2500\pm 100d+d^2$

If d is small, it’s fast mentally. For far away numbers, it’s not efficient.
